Income tax practitioners are those who represent the income taxpayers in front of the income tax authority. An income tax practitioner (ITP) provides services such as income tax return filing, income tax return submission, legal advice on tax etc.
A person certified through ITP examination from NBR or Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost and Management Accountant (CMA) or Advocate practicing in any civil court in Bangladesh can practice as an Income Tax Practitioner (ITP).
Under the income tax ordinance - 1984 a degree holder in Law or, a degree holder in commerce with accounting as one of the subjects or part of a subject, whether compulsory or optional, or a degree or diploma in banking including higher auditing degree in any subject including Diploma-in-Taxation are able to participate in ITP exam in NBR.
